The Mantorville Art Guild hosts many events during the year. The Guild supports community outreach programs and participates in all the Mantorville festivals and activities.

Fall Festival Children’s Activity

Parent and Child Pour Painting Class

This will be a parent and child 10 years old and up class.
 
You will learn 2 different pour painting techniques while having fun with your child.  Each person will take two 12×12 canvases home after they have been cured and sealed. Limit 4 parent child teams.
 
Registration fee is $150 per team

Painting Fun With The Red Hat Ladies

On July 11th the Mantorville Art Guild hosted a group of Red Hat Ladies to paint. They painted on aprons and tote bags. Just take a look at the big smiles on their faces. What fun!

Community Quilt

From June 23-25 the Mantorville Art Guild along with Stagecoach Days in Mantorville invited the community and public to paint quilt squares. The community quilt will be on display on the side of the Art Guild.

Come celebrate our local young artists at the Mantorville Art Guild! Works will be on exhibition from Thursday March 2 until April 2. A reception for the young artists and their families, friends, and the public will be held on Saturday March 4 from 1 to 3pm in the gallery.

Artwork from students at Kasson-Mantorville, Byron, and Hayfield Schools were on display in the gallery at the Mantorville Art Guild until April 2nd 2023.

Join us for Ornament Decorating at the Mantorville Art Guild on Saturday December 3rd from 12:00 to 3:00pm. The Olde Fashioned Christmas Celebration is sponsored by the Mantorville Chamber of Commerce. It is free to participate, but donations are welcome.

Winter Painting Class “Yes Snow” on Saturday November 19, 2022

Join us for a Winter Painting Class, “Yes Snow!” on Saturday November 19th from 12:30 to 3:30pm at the Mantorville Art Guild. Instructor Gayle Dahl will take you from the beginning to end of your masterpiece using acrylic paint, demonstrating each step of the way. You can choose your color palette, building designs, and details. Beginners welcome! Winter is almost here: let’s embrace it with a snow picture! Cost is $45 which includes supplies. Christmas Tree Luminary Class on Thursday November 17, 2022

Instructor Ginni Cormack will help you create two ceramic evergreens 7 and 9 inches tall. Participants will texture clay slabs to construct their trees, then apply glaze and punch holes to finish the luminaries. Finished pieces will be ready to pick up at the Guild on December 3rd. Mantorville Fall Festival Pumpkin Painting on Saturday October 29, 2022

Join us at the Mantorville Art Guild on Saturday October 29th from 12:00 to 3:00pm for Pumpkin Painting during the Fall Festival coordinated by the Mantorville Chamber of Commerce. It is free to participate, donations welcome. Thanks to People’s Energy Cooperative for the generous support of children’s art activities.

Adult Loom Knitting Class on Saturday September 17, 2022

On Saturday September 17th from 12pm to 4pm at the Mantorville Art Guild (521 N Main St) Willow Steel is instructing an Adult Loom Knitting Class. Get a head start on your handmade Christmas gifts: knit a number of these cute hats for everyone on your list. Willow will walk you through several stitches using various techniques including how to make and attach a pom-pom. Registration fee is $65 plus a $30 supply fee: participants will take home a complete loom kit and enough yarn to complete your project OR bring your own loom kit and yarn to save on the supply fee. Paint Pouring Class on Saturday August 20, 2022

Instructed by artist Willow Rose Steel, this Paint Pouring class on August 20th from 2:00 to 4:00pm will introduce several pouring techniques, including chain pull and swipe. Participants will also learn about mediums and get recipes to continue exploring this exciting technique at home. The registration fee is $50. Hypertufa Container Workshop on Saturday August 13, 2022

Mantorville Art Guild artist Ginni Cormack is teaching a Hypertufa Container Workshop on Saturday August 13 from 2 to 4pm. The cost to participate is $30, supplies included. Register by calling or emailing us.

Participants will create a lightweight outdoor container to refresh your porch or garden for the rest of the season. Hypertufa is a combination of perlite and peat moss bonded together with Portland cement. It forms a durable, lightweight outdoor container.

Mantorville Art Guild Plein Aire Contest
Saturday June 25, 2022

Join us for the annual Plein Aire Contest hosted by the Mantorville Art Guild and sponsored by the Mantorville Restoration Association. The entry fee is $25 and prizes awarded are listed. Register at the Guild after 10am on Saturday June 25 and return your completed artwork by Sunday June 26 between 10 and 11am. After judging, an awards reception will be held starting at 1pm.

Rules/ Regulations are as follows:
– All artists must register at the Mantorville Art Guild on Saturday, June 25 beginning at 10:00 am.
– All sales of any artwork created during Mantorville Art Guild Plein Air event will be conducted between the artist and purchaser. Mantorville Art Guild will not receive any payment on behalf of any participating artist.
– All work must be artist created original artwork
– Work must be done en plein air (outside) during the event times and without the assistance of photographs.
– All submissions must be submitted to the Gallery on Sunday, June 26, between 10-11 am
– All media are accepted, except for photography.

Congratulations to the winners of our Plein Air Contest at the Mantorville Art Guild during the Mantorville Stagecoach Days last weekend. Placing first is artist Cheryl Frarck with a watercolor portrait of the log cabin.

Hope and Peace for Ukraine: Paint Your Own Sunflower Masterpiece, Sunday March 20, 2022 11am to 4pm

Come paint your own Sunflower Masterpiece at the Mantorville Art Guild on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All materials are free! Take your painting home & display it as a
symbol of hope & peace for Ukraine. Guild Artists will be available to assist. Everyone Welcome! Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. All donations received will be forwarded to the International Red Cross for Ukraine.

Youth Art Month Display at the Mantorville Art Guild, March 2022

Come Celebrate Youth Art Month at the Mantorville Art Guild! You’re invited to an exhibit featuring the artistic works of area students. The galley is on display March 10th through April 3rd, 2022. The exhibit may be seen during regular Gallery hours. Three separate receptions will be held on the following dates:

Saturday, March 12th ~ Grades K to 4
Saturday, March 19th ~ Grades 5 to 9
Saturday, April 2nd ~ Grades 9 to 12

Winter Reopening Event on February 5th and 6th 2022

Join us for a Reopening Celebration at the Mantorville Art Guild on Saturday February 5th (11a-4p) and Sunday February 6th (12-4p). Member artists have added new works now on display in the gallery. There will be door prize drawings and refreshments available to all who join us. Everyone is welcome!

Book Signing with Terry Eckstein on Saturday December 11th from 11am to 4pm

On Saturday December 11th, Terry will be signing books at the Mantorville Art Guild from 11am to 4pm. Stop in to meet him. Terry writes books for the entire family using his grandfather’s name, Hank Thorson. Hank’s stories are fiction but inspired by actual events.


Christmas Ornament Decorating on Saturday December 4th from 12pm to 3pm

As a part of the Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration, the Mantorville Art Guild is inviting area youth to come decorate wooden ornaments. It’s free to participate thanks to a grant from the People’s Energy Cooperative Operation Round Up Program.

Mantorville Fall Festival Pumpkin Painting

2021 Halloween Show at the Mantorville Art Guild

Halloween art will be on display in this “creature feature” from Friday October 22nd through Sunday October 24th from 12pm to 5pm. Stop down to see the selection of autumn-themed art in historic downtown Mantorville at the Art Guild!
